The original Umbrella Corporation was responsible for the creation of the bioweapons the series is known for. Blue Umbrella Is One of Resident Evil's Biggest Mysteries Resident Evil 8 has a lot of questions to answer, but at the top of the list is Blue Umbrella and who's leading it. It was a bit shocking to see Chris Redfield working for Umbrella, but the game makes it clear that this is a new company, dubbed Blue Umbrella. This ending raised far more questions than it answered, even with the Not A Hero DLC that has players taking the role of Chris. The name Umbrella suddenly made a massive comeback at the end of Resident Evil 7, when a brand new Umbrella Corporation ends up saving Ethan Winters, with the help of none other than a newly designed Chris Redfield. Even after the company's end, Umbrella continues to play a major role in the franchise. Even those not familiar with Resident Evil oftentimes recognize that iconic red and white logo. The Umbrella Corporation is one of the best-known elements of the Resident Evil series.
